How Days Off Change the A/B Schedule:
When schools are closed for snow days, holidays,
professional days, etc.... the day off is not
designated as an A or B Day. The next day that schools
are open will continue the A/B Schedule.

Going to Private School Next Year? Moving?
If your student will be attending a private school next year instead of Liberty High or ORMS, please notify the counseling office at ORMS so we can prepare your student’s records.
If you know that you will be moving over the summer and not be returning to ORMS, please contact Mrs. Bankard so she can prepare a transfer packet for you to take to your new school.
Agenda Books and Student Handbooks
An agenda book will be provided for students. Every student will receive a copy of the Carroll County Public Schools Student Handbook.
Students are expected to have their agenda book at all times and to use it for writing down assignments.
There will be a $5.00 replacement fee for additional school agenda books.

After School Activities
Students must have written permission from parents to stay after school.
Bring Your Own Device
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)is a CCPS system initiative to allow students to bring their own electronic devices for educational purposes. At ORMS, students may bring their own devices, but the usage of devices is limited to classrooms only, at the individual teachers’ discretion. This means devices may not be used for non-instructional purposes at any time, including in the hallways, cafeteria or any other non-classroom area. Devices may be used on buses, at the bus drivers’ discretion. Devices MUST be out of sight and silent when not in use.
Students with notes for early dismissal will present these notes to the office before morning announcements. They will be given an early dismissal pass.
Students should give this pass to the teacher of the class they will be leaving.
Fidgets & Spinners
Fidgets and Spinners are considered toys, are prohibited in all areas of the building from entry through dismissal, and will be confiscated for parent pick up. While some students may require an item to maintain focus; our counselors, administrators or Special Education staff will work with those students to identify appropriate items that do not create noise or distractions to others.
Food & Drinks in School
Food and Drinks may not be consumed in the hallways. Water in a clear plastic bottle may be carried and consumed throughout the school day, including classrooms, without a doctor’s note. Bottles that are not clear are not permitted. Glass bottles are never permitted, not even in lunch bags. Students may bring “fast-food” type food or drink to breakfast, but the items must be consumed and discarded in the cafeteria. Food items and non-conforming containers observed outside of the cafeteria will be confiscated and possibly discarded.
