History Day/Celebrating America Expo
March 1st – Winters Mill High School
CCPS is excited to offer a service learning opportunity to your middle school students. On Friday evening, March 1st, we are looking for volunteers to set-up our annual History Day/Celebrating America Expo at Winters Mill High School. Our student volunteers will:
· Work with partner organizations such as the public library in order to set up their display booths and materials for the expo
· Troubleshoot possible technology issues for our History Day judges and partner organizations
· Label and prepare our History Day competition rooms
· Help History Day students locate their exhibit sites
· Organize materials for the History Day judges’ break room
We are asking student volunteers to sign up through our online survey tool**. We are also asking their parents to sign off on their registration to volunteer as well as provide a contact number for the student on Friday, March 1st.

"Roar Like a Lion" - Sunday, Jan. 27
Available at any Branch of the Carroll County Public Library
The Carroll County Public Library, in partnership with local Lions and Leo Clubs and the Lions Youth Foundation
invite you to Roar Like a Lion - an afternoon of community service.
This event is for ALL ages and will take place on Sunday, January 27. Drop in anytime between 1:30 to 4:30pm
at any branch of the Carroll County Public Library.
This is a great way for students to earn Student Service Hours. Beat the winter blues and feel the warmth of
service to your community.
There will be a variety of hands on projects Lions Clubs will supply materials, instructions,
and volunteers to lead a variety of projects that benefit our community.
Drop in for an hour or the entire time.
There will be projects for all ages and abilities.
Bring a non-perishable food item to support local pantries and Lions will collect
your old eyeglasses. Student service hours will be signed.
Earn Community Service Hours Each Week by
Participating in the Green School Home Paper Recycling Program.

Carroll County Food Sunday
Carroll County Food Sunday is in need of volunteers
on Saturday Mornings.
Volunteers will be stocking shelves of food
and other projects need by nonprofit.
It is suggested that students call
before they go to show up. The number is 410-857-7926
Caring Carroll organization is a volunteer service to
help older adults remain living independently.
Students volunteering through this nonprofit will
receive service hours. Students must be
trained to volunteer. Please contact Caring Carroll
