 Mr. John Baugher- Principal

Mr. Baugher earned a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History from Salisbury University.  After coaching college football at Salisbury, he taught at Francis Scott Key High School for 15 years.  During his teaching tenure, he coached Football, Lacrosse, Tennis, advised many clubs and was the Service Learning Coordinator.  After completing his Master’s Degree in Administration from McDaniel College, Mr. Baugher was appointed Assistant Principal at Winters Mill High School in 2006. He served as Principal at FSK from 2010 to 2017.  He is very excited to be part of the Westminster High School community and resides in Westminster.

Mr. Tom Clowes - Assistant Principal

Mr. Clowes started teaching middle school Social Studies and Math in Baltimore City Schools. He moved to Anne Arundel County Public Schools where he taught Social Studies, coached cross county, indoor track, and outdoor track. While working in Anne Arundel County he also worked for the Maryland State Department of Education as the State of Maryland Tech Pre-Coordinator. Following this, he served as an Assistant Principal at Arundel High School.

In 2003, Mr. Clowes transitioned to Carroll County Public Schools where he has been a high school Assistant Principal and Principal at Liberty, North Carroll, and Manchester Valley High Schools.  Before transferring to Westminster, he was a Coordinator of Curriculum and Instructional Resources in Central Office.

Outside of school, Mr. Clowes like to run marathons, compete in triathlons, travel, and spend time with his wife and two daughters. 

Mr. Clowes is the administrator for students with the last names beginning with K-R.

Mr. Kimani Jones - Assistant Principal

Mr. Kimani Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History from University of Maryland University College. While completing coursework for his Bachelor’s degree he worked for the Montgomery County Public School System’s High Functioning Autism Program. Upon completion of his Bachelor’s Degree, Mr. Jones was an In-School Suspension/Detention Coordinator for the Prince Georges County Public School System. He began his teaching career with the Carroll County Public School System at Francis Scott Key High School and South Carroll High School. He taught Social Studies for 2 years in the private sector at Silver Oak Academy. Mr. Jones returned to CCPS where he has spent the past 7 years as a Social Studies Teacher at Gateway. While working at Gateway Mr. Jones earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from McDaniel College. During his time at Francis Scott Key High School and Silver Oak Academy Mr. Jones coached Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity Football. Mr. Jones is excited to work with the students, parents, and staff of the Westminster community. Mr. Jones resides in Union Bridge with his wife and son.

Mr. Kimani Jones

Ms. Katie Nefflen - Assistant Principal

Ms. Nefflen is a graduate of Westminster High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree from the United States Naval Academy in Oceanography.  She was commissioned an Officer in the United States Navy and served honorably as a Meteorology and Oceanography Officer for five years, traveling all around the world. After Active Duty, Ms. Nefflen worked in the private sector. Ms. Nefflen then followed her passion for teaching and moved back to Maryland to return to Westminster High School where she taught Physics for 7 years.  She earned her Master’s Degree in  Administration and Supervision from McDaniel College and was appointed the Coordinator of Secondary Science for CCPS in 2013.  She was then appointed to Assistant Principal at WHS in July of 2017.  Ms. Nefflen lives in Westminster with her daughters.

Nefflen AP

 Ms. Mary Rivera - Assistant Principal

Ms. Rivera earned a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from Towson University.  After graduation, Ms. Rivera started her teaching career at Randallstown High School while coaching at Westminster High School. Ms. Rivera started teaching Physical Education at Westminster High School in 2007 and coached Varsity Field Hockey to three state titles.  During her teaching tenure, she coached field hockey, basketball, softball, advised many clubs, was a PE/Health department chair and SIT co-chair.  After completing her master’s degree in Educational Leadership from McDaniel College, Ms. Rivera was appointed to acting Assistant Principal at Westminster High School in October 2019. She is very excited to be part of the Westminster High School community and resides in Westminster with her husband and two dogs.

Ms. Dana Ricketts - Academic Facilitator

Mrs. Ricketts graduated from Western Maryland College with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. She earned her Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Administration from McDaniel College. Mrs. Ricketts began her career with CCPS in 2002. Prior to becoming the Academic Facilitator at Westminster High School, she was a math teacher at North Carroll High School, the Carroll County Career and Technology Center, and Winters Mill High School. Outside of school, Mrs. Ricketts enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and two children.

Mr. Terry Molloy - Athletic Director

Terry Molloy, or “Molloy” as he is known around WHS, graduated from SUNY Cortland in New York State where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Education and his Master’s Degree while playing 4 years of NCAA soccer.  Mr. Molloy began his teaching career in New York, then moved on to become the head coach of both Men’s Soccer and Women’s Lacrosse at Susquehanna University where he met his wonderful wife Carole!  Molloy then moved to Maryland where he taught PE and coached soccer in Frederick county for 7 years before coming to CCPS and Westminster HS.  Molloy coached multiple sports teams and taught PE at WHS before being named as Athletic Director, a position he has held for 19 years.
