Spirit Week of Giving December 16-20

Spirit Week of Giving December 16 – 20

This year, we would like to include our students to show their holiday spirit by making contributions of items to be donated to our 2 CCPS school food banks at South Carroll High School and Sykesville Middle, and the South Carroll Family Resource Center, a new satellite location of Shepherd Staff located right here in Eldersburg.  Our donations will directly help our Liberty community and neighbors.  Students are invited to make donations.  A prize will be given for the total grade level with the most participation.  Most of these items can be purchased from places likes a Dollar Store, Walmart, etc.  We encourage students to make a small purchase and give the donations as a way to give back during the holiday season.

Monday – Clash of the Carolers –Students donate small Stocking Stuffer items/Hanukah Treats for the families that LHS will be supporting this holiday season.  Items such as: small flashlight, stickers, playing cards, card games, crayons, coloring books, art supplies, markers, post it notes, small toys, pencils/pens, gum, silly putty, hot wheels, nail polish, bubble bath, hand sanitizer, hand lotion, small gloves, toothbrush, earrings, key chain, legos, super balls, glow sticks, bubbles, book mark, small book light, mad libs, candy cane or small candies. Ages include 2 – 16.

Tuesday – Winter Is Coming/Winter Wonderland – Students donate warm sweatshirts, sweatpants, gloves, coats, socks, scarves.  White themed items can include rolls of paper towels and toilet paper, Kleenex, diapers, baby wipes, cleaning wipes, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste.  (Items such as these are not traditionally provided by foodbanks, so they are quite valuable and needed).

Wednesday – Holiday Headwear – Students donate warm winter hats.

Thursday – Merry Morning - Students donate morning Wake Up Toiletries – toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, mouth wash, brushes and combs, razors, shaving cream, bars of soap, shampoo/conditioner, Chapstick, deodorant, small body wash, hand sanitizer.  Travel Size appreciated.  (Items such as these are not traditionally provided by foodbanks, so they are quite valuable and needed).

Friday – Holiday Cheer –Students donate a canned good.  Canned fruit and/or fruit cups are needed.

WINNER will earn a Holiday Treat of a hot cocoa buffet with all the fixings and cookies served by your administrators, teachers, and PTSO for the GRADE LEVEL with the most participation.  The treat will be served during lunch shifts on Friday, December 20.  If your advisor dresses up for the day, that’s 5 bonus points to your grade level total.  (Students are NOT dressing up, and we will not publicize the dressing up part.  That’s still special just for the staff.) Winner announced Friday morning after advisory.

Please e-mail Assistant Principal Mrs. Brown with any questions.
