Lockers and Locks:
This is notification to all parents of Gateway and Crossroads students that all students will be issued a locker. The expectation is that students will put hats, coats, back packs, phones and music devices in their lockers upon entering the building. Students will be permitted to use their phones and music devices during lunch. Students will have ample access to computers because all classrooms have enough laptops for each student to use. If you need to contact your child during the school day, please call the main office at 410-751-3691.
It is strongly recommended that parents plan vacation for times when school is not in regular session. It is recognized, however, that occasionally students are absent for necessary or important family activities. When this occurs, prior written notification from a parent is to be provided to the attendance secretary for approval by an administrator. The student will then take a Vacation Notification Form around to each of their teachers to be signed and then returned to the Main Office prior to the vacation for the administrator to sign. Even though the absence may be excused, students are required to make up work missed during that time. Some school work missed, such as class participation or laboratory experiments, does not lend itself to make up. Missing such assignments may also affect a student’s grades. All absences will apply to the school’s attendance policy and may result in the denial of course credit.

CCPS ANNOUNCEMENT Sept. 2016
Carroll County Public Schools is expanding its Facebook presence. The school system will now be using this means of communication to expand ways that it shares information, promotes activities and events, and highlights the accomplishments of students and staff. Notifications of emergency and weather- related closings also will be posted on the page.
According to Superintendent Stephen Guthrie, “This expanded Facebook presence is just one of many ways we can communicate with parents and members of the community. We hope that our school community can use Facebook to stay informed on what is taking place in our schools and our school system.”
The page may be accessed through the link below or by going directly to Facebook and searching for Carroll County Public Schools.
The school system will be launching a Twitter page during the first week of October 2016.
