Visitors

Visitors are welcome at Winfield Elementary.  Visitors should be aware that safety and security measures are in place.  Guests must come to the main entrance, where they will ring the door bell.  Staff will use the intercom and ask for the purpose of your visit.  Upon entry, visitors shall report to the main office and sign in with a secretary and provide a photo ID.  Visitors will be given a visitor badge, which is to be displayed in a way that can be seen by staff and other visitors.

We strongly recommend that any classroom visits are arranged with the teacher in advance, in order to avoid disrupting testing or other classroom activities that may result in a distraction.

Family members are welcome to visit for lunch from the third week of school until the end of the school year.  We ask that family members refrain from visiting for lunch during the first two weeks so that routines can be established in the cafeteria.  Visitors are permitted to bring food for their own child(ren), but may not share food with classmates.  We must have a dated and signed note from a parent or legal guardian to allow a non-parent visitor, such as a grandparent, aunt, etc.
