Westminster Elementary School students show Panda Pride!
What is Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS)?
Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a proactive systems approach for creating and maintaining safe and effective learning environments in our school, and ensuring that all students learn the social and emotional skills needed to ensure their personal success at school and beyond.
WES students follow and demonstrate 3 school wide expectations on a daily basis (also known as the 3 R’s):
Respect (treating others as I would like to be treated, valuing myself and others around me).
Responsible (taking ownership for learning and behavior).
Ready To Learn (willingness to listen, follow directions, and complete work).
Students who demonstrate Respect, Responsible, and Ready To Learn behaviors are recognized daily with Panda Bucks, which are located in classrooms and throughout the building. Panda Bucks are distributed by any school staff member. Students are able to save their bucks to earn rewards of their choice from the Panda Bucks Store.
Within the framework of PBIS, students are taught behavioral expectations and receive acknowledgement for demonstrating Panda Pride.
Westminster Elementary School students have character!
