The general purpose of the Maryland Association of School Librarians shall be the improvement of teaching and learning in Maryland by bringing together individuals who are engaged in the field of school library media and information studies which fosters curriculum support and information retrieval and use.
The purpose of the Maryland Society for Educational Technology shall be to promote the improvement of the teaching-learning process through effective computer education program development, to promote the integration of computer application into curricular areas, and to foster and promote excellence in computer utilization in the schools of Maryland.

The mission of SoMIRAC is to improve the level of literacy in the State of Maryland. Carroll Educational Television (CETV-CH21) is Carroll County Public School's educational access channel. We serve cable subscribers with educational and school-based programming for all educational institutions in the Carroll County Public School System.
