On Thursday, March 15, Robert Moton Elementary School participated in a STEM event. The assembly, which was organized as a parent involvement activity, featured Eric Energy (www.ericenergy.com). Throughout the interactive presentation, Eric demonstrated the scientific concepts of solids, liquids, and gases. Each student had the opportunity to participate and experience the excitement of science in a hands-on manner.

On Thursday, March 15, over fifty students from Taneytown Elementary School participated in an Olympics-themed STEM night. The event, which was organized as a parent involvement activity, featured volunteers from Knorr Brake Company (www.knorrbrakecorp.com). Throughout the evening, students rotated between three stations. In the library, students participated in a physics demonstration where they designed catapults for ping pong balls and measured distance. Station two in the gym featured fog machines, and the final activity in the cafeteria required students to use metal wire and a battery to demonstrate energy in motion.
