Early Childhood Information
Pre-Kindergarten information is available at schools during Kindergarten Registration Week in mid-March (specific dates to be determined). If your child is 4 on or before September 1 and meets the financial criteria, please contact your local elementary school for information for prekindergarten.
All children who are 5 on or before September 1 must be enrolled in Kindergarten. Enrollment information is available during Kindergarten Registration Week in mid-March (specific dates to be determined). Students will begin school in September. Parents are encouraged to watch the local paper for bus pick-up locations and times. Information will be sent from the schools regarding class assignments.

Early Childhood Education Programs:
The Carroll County Public Schools’ Early Childhood Programs include Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and Judy Center which includes Parents As Teachers (PAT).
Judy Center Partnership of Carroll County is a state funded initiative to promote school readiness for children birth through five years of age and their family.
Kindergarten is a full day program provided for students who live in Carroll County and reach the age of 5 on or before September 1.
Pre-Kindergarten provides direct instruction for students who are income-eligible and four years old on or before September 1.
PAT (Parents As Teachers) is a program for parents and children, ages birth through 5. PAT educators help parents and young children.
