About
Carroll County Public Schools provide all students—from elementary through high school—with access to visual arts programs.
High school visual arts courses offer opportunities to explore advanced media, techniques, and forms of creative expression. Enrollment in these classes fulfills the fine arts graduation requirement established by the State of Maryland. High school visual arts coursework prepares students to pursue careers in the visual arts or to develop a lifelong appreciation of artistic practice.
Visual literacy and the arts are fundamental aspects of human experience. Engaging in visual arts education is essential for fostering growth in cognition, critical thinking, and fine motor skills. Through the study and creation of art, students strengthen their creative capacities, develop problem-solving abilities, and learn to form aesthetic judgments inspired by the richness and complexity of artistic images.

Visual Arts Advanced Enrichment Program
INTRODUCTION:
The Carroll County Visual Arts Advanced Enrichment (VAAE) Program is designed for middle school students identified through a combination of teacher recommendations and portfolio reviews. This rigorous enrichment program, led by both high school and middle school teachers, provides students the opportunity to explore a wide variety of artistic media related to classic and contemporary fine art genres in a unique studio environment.
The goal of VAAE is to continue to foster creative problem solving and artistic growth beyond the scope of the traditional middle school art classroom.

Any slide in this document with a BLUE background are the template slides where you should add your picture and artist statement. Any slides that have a GREY background should be deleted before submission. Your slides must all include the required information… feel free to change the color of the background, add personal touches to the slides, just be aware to not let them distract from the required information.
- Proofread and review your slides and submit by either sharing the file with Ms. Middleton's email address in PPT, or emailing it to her as an attachment (more detailed instructions are in the PPT).
