Sykesville Middle School Students Recognized for Economic Posters

Sykesville Middle School students Suniti Das and Caitlyn Dean are among 20 winners from across the state in the Maryland Council on Economic Education’s annual poster contest.

This contest for Maryland students in grades 1 through 8 helps teachers stimulate interest in learning basic economic and personal finance concepts. Students are given the opportunity to creatively demonstrate their understanding of one of the following economic concepts: scarcity; natural, human and capital resources; opportunity cost; producers and consumers; or goods and services; or personal finance concepts:  saving and investing, taxes, markets, sources of income and philanthropy.

Suniti’s poster depicts the concept of opportunity cost, while Caitlyn’s poster focuses on saving and investing.
