CCPS Recognized for Inclusive Instruction

Carroll County Public Schools partnered with the TIES Center and the Maryland State Department of Education to increase inclusive opportunities for students. The school system has been recognized by the Center as an excellent model for thoughtfully de-regionalizing and returning students to their neighborhood schools.

CCPS worked with the TIES Center for four years to identify and remove barriers so that all  students, including students with significant cognitive disabilities, are included in general education classes, lessons, activities, and routines.

The CCPS TIES initiative is funded through the Individuals with Disabilities Act (IDEA Part B 611), which are federal funds passed through the Maryland State Department of Education.
