Carroll Students Named Carson Scholars

A total of 162 students from Carroll County Public Schools have been selected as Carson Scholars for 2022. This includes 39 First-Time Scholars and 123 Recognized Scholars.

Each year the Carson Scholars Fund recognizes a select group of high achieving students in grades 4-11 who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and humanitarian qualities. First-Time Scholars who excel academically and selflessly give of themselves, their time, and their talent to others receive a $1,000 college scholarship award and the honor of being named a Carson Scholar. After winning the scholarship, students may apply to renew their Carson Scholar status. These previous scholarship recipients have maintained high academic standards and commitment to their communities.

This year’s new Carson Scholars will be recognized at exclusive film premieres across the country in May. Theaters will show the Carson Scholars Fund’s original short film, Carson Scholars: Heroes Among Us. The film will feature live shots of scholars demonstrating how they are using their gifts and talents to make the world a better place. At the premieres, Dr. Carson will deliver a special message and scholars will be honored in front of their families and their peers. New scholars will be presented with a medal and recognized scholars will be given a pin to add to the ribbon of their existing medal.

Carroll County Public Schools would like to thank The Kahlert Foundation, Cole Roofing Company, Inc., and Costco Wholesale Corporation for supporting our Carson Scholars through their generous funding of $1,000 scholarships.
