The Board of Education of Carroll County is seeking feedback on the proposed Virtual Day Instruction Plan. The plan was presented to the Board at its meeting on Wednesday, July 21.
The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) has created a process for local boards of education to use certain, limited school days as virtual days in the 2022-2023 school year. As a result, County Public Schools now has the opportunity to use up to eight days as virtual school days in limited circumstances. The days may be synchronous or asynchronous. However, no more than three of the eight days may be used as asynchronous days.

In the plan, the Superintendent is proposing using an asynchronous virtual day for each high school graduation and synchronous virtual days for inclement weather days that occur if the four inclement weather days built into the 2022-23 calendar are used.

Citizens also may give public comment during citizen participation at the Board of Education meeting on Wednesday, August 17, 2022. The meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. with time for citizen participation at approximately 5:15 and again later in the meeting.
