Dr. Beth Ann Monn, a teacher of the hearing impaired, was chosen by the Maryland Governor’s Office of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing as the Outstanding Deaf Community Ally of 2020. 

Dr. Monn has devoted her career to improving learning and opportunities for hearing impaired students.  She has educated teachers and legislators and advocated to raise the standards of service to the deaf community in Maryland.  She enhances the field of Educational Interpreting through teaching, mentoring, providing workshops, and testing Educational Interpreters to increase the success of students in public schools. 

Kathy Kaufman, Supervisor of Special Education Services, said, “We are very fortunate and proud to have Beth Ann’s expertise and passion in service to the staff and students of Carroll County Public Schools.”
