With the distribution of thousands of loaner laptops from all our school sites, there are the inevitable issues that have come up that require reconfiguration and/or repair. We have been able to assist many people using remote support methods, but there remain issues that require a technician to have physical interaction with the computer. To address these types of issues, CCPS Technology Services will be offering drive-up troubleshooting for devices that have been loaned from CCPS only.

This Saturday, October 17, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, there will be technicians available at CCPS Central Office (located at 125 North Court Street, Westminster) as our first offering of this type of support. If we find this to be a beneficial way to address technical issues, we will be expanding this drive-up model to other areas of the county to provide more regionalized support.

In order to comply with all social distancing guidelines, we will require that everyone who arrives stay in their vehicles and our staff will come to get your device and all necessary information. Masks will be required when interacting with our staff, and we will be practicing all applicable sanitizing methods when collecting and returning the devices. You will then be directed to a parking spot where you may wait until the repair is finished. If the technician determines that the repair will take a significant amount of time, you will be updated with a time estimate of when to return.

We hope that by offering this method of service, we will be able to serve those who we have not been able to assist remotely or who require service outside of our traditional support hours.
