Evan Warren, a senior and a football player at Westminster High School, has been selected by the Maryland State Athletic Directors Association as the male recipient of the 2020 National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association’s (NIAAA) Student-Athlete Scholarship Award for the State of Maryland.

These scholarships recognize the distinguished scholastic, leadership and sportsmanship attributes of high school student-athletes, and the importance of high school athletics in each student’s life. Evan will receive a plaque and a $500 scholarship. In addition, his application has been submitted to the NIAAA Section 2 Scholarship Committee, where it will be reviewed along with the applications from six other states and the District of Columbia.

Evan also was one of nine high school seniors from the Baltimore area to receive the 2020 Minds in Motion Scholar-Athlete Scholarships. A male and female were selected from each of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association’s nine districts. Each winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship provided by The Allstate Foundation. Applicants were required to have a minimum 3.25 unweighted GPA and to have played one MPSSAA-sanctioned sport during their high school careers.

Evan was a 1st Team All-Conference and All-County football player. He was a member of the Super 22 Team, a Baltimore Touchdown Club All-Star, and a Maryland Crab Bowl All-Star. Evan also is a former Student Representative to the Board of Education of Carroll County.
