Carroll County Public Schools will host a youth apprenticeship informational evening on Thursday, January 16, 2020, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Winters Mill High School, located at 560 Gorsuch Road in Westminster.
The school system is now participating in the Apprenticeship Maryland Program, which will connect students with registered employers as youth apprentices. Students who participate in youth apprenticeships gain real world experience while working in paid positions and earning high school credit. The youth apprenticeship fulfills the career completer option for high school graduation.
High school students in grades 10 and 11 and business people interested in becoming apprenticeship sponsors are encouraged to attend this informational meeting. Representatives will be available from:
- Carroll County Public Schools
- Maryland State Department of Education
- Maryland Department of Labor
- Carroll County Economic Development
- Local Employers.
For more information on apprenticeship programs, please contact Mr. Bill Eckles, Supervisor of Career and Technical Education, at email@example.com or 410-751-3104.
