Carroll County Public Schools will sponsor a fall leadership summit for middle and high school students on Friday, September 27, 2019, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:20 p.m. at Carroll Community College. Leaders from student government and minority student unions will be in attendance. The theme of the summit is BE THE CHANGE.

The keynote address will be presented by Carlos Ojeda, Jr. from 9:15 to 9:40 a.m. Ojeda also will lead breakout sessions during the middle and high school workshops and will bring closing comments to the group from 12:55 to 1:20 p.m. Workshops for students will focus on collaboration, opioid awareness, taking the initiative, culture chats, cultural sensitivity, and other topics.

Ojeda has been called one of the most dynamic youth empowerment speakers in America today. A former university administrator, professor, and small business development center director, he now focuses his energy on empowering students to succeed by teaching them that their voice is their power.
