Jasmine Brown, an eighth grade student at West Middle School, was selected as the middle school first place winner in the 2019 Spring Student Artwork Exhibition presented by The First Lady’s Art Gallery.

Maryland First Lady Yumi Hogan hosted an opening reception for the student artists, their families, and their teachers. The exhibition was adjudicated and three awards were given for outstanding accomplishments in visual arts.

Jasmine received the award for her watercolor piece entitled Morning Dew. She created the piece as a 7th grader at West Middle. Jasmine’s art teacher is Jennifer Girard.
