In the 2018-2019 school calendar, 4 emergency closing days were allotted for inclement weather. As of Monday, February 25, 2019, Carroll County Public Schools has used 6 emergency closing days for inclement weather.
Due to the number of days used, the Board of Education voted at its meeting on Wednesday, February 13, to approve the Superintendent’s recommendation to extend the school year for up to 5 school days beyond June 15, 2019, as needed for inclement weather make-up days.
As of February 25, the last day of school will be Tuesday, June 18, 2019. If additional inclement weather days are necessary, there is a possibility that students could be in school through June 21. As parents are making plans for vacations and summer activities, they are encouraged to take into consideration that there is the possibility of students attending school this entire week.
Once we are through inclement weather, the school system will be sending an announcement to parents confirming the last day of school.
