Officers from the Francis Scott Key, Manchester Valley, South Carroll, Westminster, and Winters Mill FFA chapters visited policy makers in Annapolis on Tuesday, February 21, 2018. The purpose of the visit was to commemorate FFA Week 2018, to celebrate Career and Technical Education Month, and to advocate for continued support of school-based agricultural education in Carroll County.

FFA student leaders visited with Delegates Susan Krebs, Haven Shoemaker, and April Rose and Senator Justin Ready and had a photograph opportunity with Governor Hogan.  During the visits, student leaders thanked the officials for their support of education, agricultural education, and FFA leadership programs.  The students conveyed the benefits of agricultural education and FFA for

The visit also included a celebration of the Smith-Hughes Act, a piece of federal legislation which established Agricultural Education as an integral part of public school education.
