Two middle school students from Carroll County Public Schools placed among the top 30 individuals at the Frederick Chapter/Regional MATHCOUNTS competition. Elizabeth Stebner from Oklahoma Road Middle School placed 3rd, and Sanghyeok Kang from Sykesville Middle School placed 15th. Both students qualified to advance to the state competition in March.

MATHCOUNTS is a national mathematics program for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students with the purpose of increasing enthusiasm for and enhancing achievement in middle school mathematics throughout the United States.
