Technology education students from Westminster High School competed in the 2018 Maryland Wood Bridge Engineering Challenge, which was held at the Baltimore Museum of Industry on Saturday, February 3, 2018.

Juniors Dakota Ash, Anthony Fertitta, and Ryan Scocco competed in this engineering challenge against students from around the state.  Ash and Fertitta placed first and second, respectively, in Maryland’s region 2 based on the highest structural efficiency of the bridges they designed.  Both students were invited to the prestigious International Wood Bridge Engineering Challenge to be held at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago in April.
