Manchester Valley High School is hosting a Parent Information and Resource Night on Thursday, February 8, from 4-8:30pm.  A variety of sessions will be offered throughout the evening for parents and students. Understanding the NCAA Clearinghouse, and Eligibility & Recruiting Tidbits for Aspiring DI & D II Student Athletes

Division III Recruiting Process for Athletes

Understanding the recruiting process presented by the Compliance Officer from York College of Pennsylvania

Dual Enrollment and Student Services at Carroll Community College

Carroll Community will talk about steps to becoming a student as well as Dual enrollment

Electives and the Scheduling Process

An overview of the scheduling process and information from the Program of Studies

SAT/ACT Information

This session will provide parents and students with a general overview of what to expect on the new SAT, when students should take the test, and how they can best prepare for success on the math, reading, and writing sections of the exam. 

Scholarships and FAFSA Financial Aid for College

Carroll community will share information about filling out the FAFSA and scholarships

Support for Minority Students

Manchester Valley High School has several groups that provide support for Minority Students:  Maverick Minorities, Allies, Black Student Union, GSA, and Feminists United.  Students will present this session to parents, staff, and students followed by a discussion of concerns, support, and ideas.

Testing Requirements - PARCC, HSA, MISA, CCR

The School Testing Coordinator and representatives from Math, English, Science, and Government will review information about high school testing requirements.

TIPS - Threats in Plain Sight for Parents Only

This program is designed to educate parents on the sometimes subtle signs of drug use that may be evident if they were aware of what to look for in their child’s room. There will be mock drug room as well as a video regarding what parents are missing. The informational session will be followed up by a question/answer session. PARENTS ONLY
