The Diversity Club at Cranberry Station Elementary School recently made more than 250 “On the Go” bags for the local Cold Weather Shelter.  Individuals staying at this shelter must leave by 7 a.m. the following day and are able to take an “On the Go” bag when they leave in the morning. Students made two types of bags. One bag contains toiletries including ChapStick, hand warmers, toothbrush, toothpaste, soap, gloves, and tissues. The second bag includes a drink, gum, mints, snack bars, chips, crackers, and a pop tart.

This is the Diversity Club’s third year putting together these bags. They put together about 50 bags in the first year and 115 the second year. Donations came from students in Diversity Club and some staff members.
