On April 25, 2015, Agriscience teacher,
Emily Hester, was promoted to Master Teacher status in the Curriculum for Agricultural Science Education (CASE), the highest level of achievement in the project. Emily, of WHS, joins
Ruth Chamelin, also of Westminster High, as Master Teachers in CASE. Nationally, there are 18 Master Teachers, making CCPS and Maryland one of the most decorated entities in the CASE domain with four in one district.
CASE is a national curriculum and professional development project started
in 2007 by the National Council for Agricultural Education. As Master Teachers, these CCPS standouts travel the nation to train fellow agricultural educators about the innovative and advanced pedagogy offered by CASE.
Caitlyn Stupi, a Westminster High School junior in Honors Orchestra with director Jennifer Bodrie Jones, was selected as a finalist in a national scholarship essay contest sponsored by School Band & Orchestra.
Each spring the United States House
of Representatives sponsors an art competition for high school students. Forrest Lescalleet from Westminster High School was one of seven runners-up in the exhibit. His work will hang
