OUR NEW PRINCIPAL

Mr. Jeff Hopkins comes to Westminster High School with 24 years of experience in education.  In the classroom, he was a social studies teacher at Glen Burnie and South River High Schools in Anne Arundel County. He has been a high school administrator for 16 years, first as an assistant principal at Mary Moss Academy and Meade High School, then beginning with move to Westminster in 2004, an assistant principal here at WHS until 2008. His next stop was North Carroll High School to work with the students who would eventually go to Manchester Valley High School.

When MVHS opened in 2009, he went with the students as their assistant principal. In 2010, Hopkins served at South Carroll High School as an assistant principal until 2012 when he was named their principal. He remained in that position until June 30, subsequently taking the helm here at Westminster High School.

Hopkins states, “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to come back to Westminster High School.  I requested the move to WHS because I enjoyed my previous experience working in this community.  I am excited to become a part of Westminster High School’s rich history.  I am impressed with the quality of instructional programs offered to our students.  The community support of our school is a major contributor to its continued success. “
