WHS is hosting its 2nd SAT  Tune-up Seminar where students will learn go-to strategies from instructors who have earned multiple perfect scores on the SAT. The date is April 26th & 27th from 9am-1pm.  For $165 students receive Catalyst's SAT prep book, self-study materials, diagnostic tests, as well as copies of essays that have earned perfect scores on actual SATs.   The last day to enroll is April 23rd by 6pm. Visit CatalystPrep.com and click on "Bootcamp Sign-Up" on the menu bar. For more information email info@CatalystPrep.com or call 800-235-0056. 
 
 
On March 21 – 23, 13 students from Key Club attended the Capital District Convention in Baltimore, Maryland. Emily Green and Meghan Wrigley received awards for Distinguished Officers of the Year; Michelle Gulden received the Talent Performance Award, and Emily Green was inducted as the 2014-2015 Lieutenant Governor for Division 7B. The Club was recognized for its participation in the Governor’s Project – Pay it Forward, the District Project – Josie Smiles, the Saturday evening Service Fair, and the Parade of Checks to which we donated $266.03 that we raised for Project Eliminate. Finally, our Westminster High School Key Club was named Key Club of the Year.

Congratulations to our Bridge Team who competed at the 2014 Model Wood Bridge Engineering Challenge last weekend. Check out their incredible results!
*Zach Rodriguez placed first and took the STATE TITLE!!!
*Wyatt Wetzel placed a close second
*Zach and Wyatt will be returning to the International Wood Bridge Challenge hosted by the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.
*Leah Jamison placed third and held the most weight in the competition.
*Curtis Burnett and Colin Hopkins placed in the top 10. Colin also won the Design Award judged by the civil engineering committee at the competition.

WHS is proud to congratulate Seniors
Sadie Allgeier & Christiana Sasser. 
Sadie is the recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award for her exceptional commitment to community service and her accumulated hours of over 1750 hours. Christiana is also a recipient of the President’s Volunteer Service Award with accumulated hours of over 500 hours. In addition, Christiana is one of six students in the state of Maryland being recognized as a distinguished finalist for the Prudential Spirit of the Community Award.  Congratulations

Keely Farkas, a senior at WHS, won an award for her entry in the “Love Your Tree” contest sponsored by Sheppard Pratt Hospital. There were over 300 entries from numerous counties entered into the contest. An awards ceremony was held February 25th.

Nicholas Lolli has been named a finalist in the 59th annual National Merit Scholarship Program which honors individual students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
