Concurrent Enrollment
If a student desires to enroll in a concurrent enrollment program at a local college during the senior year, he/she must be enrolled in 4 credits beyond the junior year at his/her home school and have met all specified graduation requirements. Although each student's plan is developed on a case-by-case basis to best meet the needs of the individual student, it is recommended that the student complete or be enrolled in Survey of American Literature and Algebra II/Data Analysis prior to requesting enrollment in a post-secondary program. Students must take college placement tests and seek permission for concurrent enrollment prior to the beginning of the semester for which the request is being made. Students must make an appointment with their School Counselor and have a parent conference to review the educational plan, discuss course options at the college, and obtain appropriate paperwork. College courses should be taken at the 100 level and above. All expenses/fees/tuition at any post secondary institution are the responsibility of the student and his/her parent.

College Athletic Eligibility
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has specific guidelines for high school student athletes who wish to be eligible to compete in college athletics. There are five basic criteria which include:
1. Graduation from high school with 2 foreign/world language credits earned during grades 9 through 12
2. Graduation from high school with mathematics credits through Algebra II/Data Analysis
3. Minimum core grade point average
4. Minimum ACT or SAT test score
5. Completion of 16 core courses
Planning for college and college athletics should begin in grade 9 in order to complete the core courses. Students should register with the NCAA clearinghouse by the end of their junior year. See Mr. Minnier or Mr. Byrnes in the School Counseling department for information concerning the specifics of the above criteria.
