Peer Facilitators
1. Definition - A peer facilitator is an emotionally mature student leader who recognizes and intervenes in problems identified at their school.
2. Purpose - The Carroll County Public Schools shall make available to any student the privilege of peer facilitating.
3. Objectives:
a. Act as a facilitator in interpreting the Student Code and the individual school's Student/Parent Handbook.
b. Based upon the student's individual needs, refer him or her to counselors or other resource persons.
4. Designated peer facilitators shall complete the necessary training under the auspices of the Pupil Services Department of the Carroll County Public Schools.
5. Students may request appointments with peer facilitators by completing the request form found in the Guidance Office. Passes will then be issued by the school counselor and should be approved by the teacher before the student leaves class for the appointment.
