National Art Honor Society
The local chapter, Chapter No. 807, was formed in 1987. The purpose of this organization is to:
1. Recognize those students who have shown outstanding ability in the field of art.
2. Serve as an inspiration for students to strive for higher goals in their work.
3. Foster excellence and a dedicated spirit in the pursuit of art.
4. Encourage the creative abilities and talents of the individual student.
5. Assist students in working toward the attainment of their highest potential in the field of art.
6. Bring art to the attention of the school and community.
7. Increase the awareness of art as a viable area within the total school curriculum.
8. Advance aesthetic awareness in all aspects of the total school curriculum.
Candidates eligible for selection to this chapter must be students in grades 10-12 and shall have an academic average of "B" or better. This level of achievement must be maintained to retain membership.
Selection of members to this chapter shall be by recommendation from the art faculty of Westminster High School who are members in good standing of the National Art Education Association.
