Girls' Athletic Board
The Girl's Athletic Board is an organization of Westminster High School varsity female athletes. They perform service to the school and community. Service projects are as follows:
1. Mentoring selected elementary school students and directing them towards various sports.
2. Winter Concession Stand for winter sports.
3. Two Holiday Projects:
a. Provide presents for springfield Hospital residents
b. Support a Carroll County Family through Neighbors in Need holiday program with presents and groceries for the holiday season
4. Helping with Special Olympics.
5. Helping with elementary school play days.
6. Enhancing the physical education areas with painted sports murals.
The club does various fundraising activities to help finance items for the girl's athletic programs as well as the athletic program as a whole and the physical education program. A scholarship is awarded to a senior GAB member at the end of the year who is going to pursue a health or wellness related major in college. Girls may apply for membership during the month of September.
Criteria for membership include: GPA, team membership and physical education participation.
