2010 - 2011 

 

 General Music -  

 

6th Grade Students will cover elements of music relating to rhythm, melody, harmony form and tone. An emphasis on the study of world folk music, musical theater and the study of instruments of the orchestra.

 

 

7th Grade Students will continue with the elements of music and study the styles of music from the Medieval through the Romantic Period. Opera is studied in a broad sense. Students will study careers in the music industry and labs will begin on the piano, recorder and guitar.

 

 

8th Grade Students will focus on the styles of music during the 20th Century, cover careers in the music industry and continue with labs on the piano, recorder and guitar.

 

 

 

 Chorus - 

 

 

Students will learn music and perform to the school and parents during the Winter Concert and Spring Concerts. Check back in the Fall for concert dates.

 

 

Students interested in trying out for All-County Chorus will need to see their Chorus teacher to receive a packet of information regarding tryout dates and music.
