Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ's

What grade levels does Spring Garden Elementary serve?

We serve the needs of students in grade levels PreKindergarten through Grade 5.

How do Spring Garden students perform academically in Reading and Math?

Spring Garden Elementary has a rigorous instructional program and high expectations for all students. We are proud that Spring Garden Elementary students typically perform at or above grade level on all standardized and school based assessments. Please see the Maryland State Department of Education website. Click below to link to view the TEST SCORES.

All students working at, above or below grade level receive instruction at their own ability level in reading and math. They are grouped through the analysis of both formal standardized test scores as well as informal classroom performance and participation. Teachers meet quarterly to analyze data and will adjust students' placement as needed to insure that each child is challenged, yet successful. Instruction is delivered in large and small group settings daily.

What intervention programs are available for students who require additional academic support?

We provide support for students through individual or small group coaching delivered by either Resource teachers, Special Education teachers, Hourly Certified teachers, Instructional Assistants or Parent Volunteers depending upon the student's individual needs.
