High Schools
In Carroll County there are seven comprehensive high schools as well as two career and technology centers and an alternative school, The Gateway School. Students in grades 9 through 12 attend one of seven Carroll County high schools. A student must earn a minimum of 25 credits beyond the eighth grade to graduate from high school. Our newest high school Manchester Valley will open in Fall 09.
In addition to the required courses, many others are available in foreign languages, business education, fine arts and technology education. Numerous career and technology programs for high school students are also available in each school and two career and technology centers. All high schools have an extensive extra-curricular and co-curricular program.
