South Carroll is proud to announce the induction of their first class into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame. The chosen recipients are Fred Baker, Amber Clutter Hunter, Joey Goodwin and Bryan Hamper.

  • Mr. Baker was a basketball coach and the first athletic director at the school, until 1997.  He was instrumental in building the athletic program at the school, implementing Title IX initiatives, and creating the Central Maryland Conference Athletic League.
  • Mrs. Hunter played soccer, basketball and tennis.  She was the soccer player of the year two times and was selected as an All-American her senior year.  She still holds all of the soccer scoring records for the school, was the tennis player of the year and the Baltimore Metro Athlete of the Year.
  • Mr. Goodwin played football, basketball and baseball.  After attending George Mason to play baseball he went on to play professional baseball, being drafted by the Baltimore Orioles and the Texas Rangers.
  • Mr. Hamper played football and wrestled.  He was a two-time state champion in wrestling and wrestled in college at Western Maryland College.  He has returned to South Carroll as the school's wrestling coach.

The induction took place on Friday, January 31, 2014 during half time of the boys' varsity basketball game.
