With responsibility comes the personal satisfaction of doing the right thing.
With irresponsibility come consequences.
- CONDUCT: The media center is a place for research, study and reading. Students are expected to work quietly and stay on task at all times. Students unaccompanied by a teacher may be asked to return to class for inappropriate behavior. Students are to remain in their seats until the bell rings.
- PASSES: During regular school hours, including lunch mods, students unaccompanied by a teacher must have a pass to enter the Media Center. Students having passes are expected to sign in and out at the front desk and show their pass to a Media Center staff member. Students coming from lunch must remain in the Media Center during the entire period.
- BORROWING PROCEDURES: All materials borrowed are to be returned in good condition by the due date on the back of the book. Library fines (usually 10 cents each school day) accrue on a daily basis if the resource is not returned on time. Maximum fine for an overdue book is $10.00.
- OVERDUE NOTICES: Students are expected to return Media Center resources by the due date listed on the resource that is borrowed. If a student needs the resource for an extended period of time, the resource may be easily renewed by bringing it into the Media Center for a due date extension. Overdue notices are sent to students' homerooms after the first week that the material is overdue and every week thereafter until the student's obligation has been met.
- PAPER CONSERVATION: Students should make every attempt to print using the minimum amount of paper. To do this, students should always read the document and then select that portion of the document that they need to print. To print responsibly, students should use the Print Preview button in the "file drop-down" menu and preview each page to be printed. Another way to conserve paper is to copy and paste the required information into a word processing program and print from there. For two-sided printing, students should select the Dell printer which is number 49.
- COMPUTER & INTERNET USE: Students may use the Media Center's computers for academic/educational or personal growth purposes only. This means no AOL Instant Messenger or personal e-mail is allowed. Students must abide by the CCPS telecommunications procedures at all times.
