Title 1

Title I is a federally funded program. Robert Moton Elementary School uses Title I funds to provide reading and math support to students who are most at risk of not meeting challenging state standards. Funds are used for one-on-one / small group student instruction, to promote parent involvement, and professional development for staff.

TITLE I PARENT ADVISORY COUNCIL (PAC)

All Title I parents are invited to participate in the Carroll County Public Schools' Title I Parent Advisory Council. The mission of this group is to empower all Carroll County Title I parents to understand how to help their child(ren) be successful academically. Parents have the opportunity to provide input on the Title I program, plan countywide parent involvement involvement activities, and learn more about Carroll County Public Schools.

Meetings for the 2010 - 2011 school year will be held at Cranberry Station Elementary School from 6;00 pm - 8:00 pm. Fliers will be sent home announcing each meeting.


Dinner and childcare/homework help are provided at each meeting.

HOME-SCHOOL LEARNING COMPACT

Each school year, Title I parents and Robert Moton Elementary staff work together to create a Home-School Learning Compact. This compact outlines how parents, staff, and students will work together to improve student achievement and create meaningful partnerships.

PARENT INVOLVEMENT PLAN

Each year Title I parents and Robert Moton staff work together to create a Parent Involvement Plan for the school year. Together they determine the types of parent involvement activites that will best meet the needs of families of students identified for Title I services. These parent involvement activities may include activities such as . . .

  • math and reading materials to use at home
  • parent workshops
  • math and reading family nights
  • parent / school communication
  • home visits
  • parent resource materials
