COUNSELING MATTERS
This web-page provides information about the school counseling program including services provided to students, parents, and teachers, and relevant resources and web links. I am Lynn Uram, the school counselor for Robert Moton Elementary School. I am available at Robert Moton Monday through Friday, during regular school hours, at 410-751-3610. Please feel free to contact me by phone, by e-mail, mluram@k12.carr.org, or stop in to talk.
Our Mission
The mission of the School Counseling Program is to facilitate the personal and academic growth of all students. School counselors, as integral members of the educational team, support students in making positive life choices and becoming responsible caring adults.
Our Vision
Every day, thousands of students set sail to discover who they are, where they are going, and what difference they will make in the world. Counselors, as lighthouses, guide students through a voyage toward self-discovery through the uncertain waters of social, emotional, and academic challenges. From kindergarten through graduation, counselors are committed to providing a safe harbor in which students can explore their potential and discover their unique capabilities. As role models of character counselors are dedicated professionals who have made a choice to advocate for all students. Counselors help students ride the waves of success and failure, watching with pride as they chart their course in the world.

Other Counseling Services
In addition to the full range of school counseling services which I can offer as a full-time school counselor we, at Robert Moton Elementary School, are fortunate to have on staff a Crisis Intervention Counselor, a Behavior Specialist, and a School Psychologist. Counselor/therapists from two community agencies, Villa Maria Continuum and Transformations Psychotherapy Sevices, also, provide direct services to students and families in our school. Each of these provides counseling and consultation services for selected students. Please take a look at their bios by clicking on "Meet the Counselors".
