Integrated Language Arts
Phonemic Awareness - A child is sensitive to the
sounds of the language, to the sounds within words, and
feels the words in their mouth when they are spoken.
- Children know that words are made of a sequence of
sounds.
- Children can tell when a word sounds like another word
in some way.
- Children hear individual sounds, syllables,
onsets and rimes, word parts, and whole word units.
