The students a Piney Ridge Elementary School visit the Media Center each week for a 30-minute lesson and to select books and/or magazines to check out for the weeklong loan period.  Student may come to the Media Center any weekday morning until 9:05 AM to exchange, re-new and/or checkout media materials.  It is recommended that students not come in the morning of their Media Day, since the selection of materials is part of the lesson and will take place during that time.

Kindergarteners visit the Media Center on the third Monday of each month starting in October.  Each class will hear a story and each student will then select 1 book to checkout for a week.

First graders select 1 book from the “easy” section until mid-year and then they may also go into the non-fiction area of the center.

Second graders may select 1 book (fiction or non-fiction) or a magazine.

Third-fifth grade students may select 2 books or 1 book and a magazine.  If a teacher assigns a special report, then the student may checkout additional materials.

Remember students can checkout items every school day.
