School Information
PBIS
Mechanicsville Elementary School is a PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) school. We are asking that our students "CARE." CARE stands for cooperation, attitude, repsonsibility, and effort. Below is a chart of our CARE expections for different areas within our school. When students exemplify these behaviors and expectations, they are awarded with a CARE Ticket. A sample ticket can be found below. When a student earns a ticket, a copy will go home. Please be sure to ask your child how they earned the ticket!

Volunteer Training
Please see the link below for a complete list of volunteer training dates. Please remember that all volunteers must participate in volunteer training seven (7) school days prior to volunteering or chaperoning a field trip. This window allows time for the screening process and data entry. Due to changing information and updates regarding Volunteer Program Standards and Safety and Security Issues, volunteers are required to attend annual training. Volunteer training may be obtained at any Carroll County Public School or sanctioned training location. All volunteer training from the 10-11 school year will remain valid until September 30th.
In addition to the training sessions listed on the CCPS Volunteer Training Schedule, the following training sessions will be offered at MES. You may attend any volunteer training session offered in the county to statisfy the requirement.
Morning Volunteer Training Sessions:
All sessions will begin at 9:30 in the MES cafeteria.
October 13th
February 9th
April 12th
Evening Volunteer Training Sessions:
All sessions will begin at 6:30 in the MES media center.
September 21st
November 16th
March 21st
May 16th
Volunteer training will also be offered as part of each Back to School Night.
If you are a trained volunteer, and you volunteered your time without logging in/out of the computer in the front office, please use the form below to document your hours. Please return this form to school and our staff will then add the time you volunteered into our system. This is a great way of submitting your time volunteered at Mardi Gras or during one of our other great events that take place outside of the school day.
