Jessica Wroten, Media Specialist & Donna Hamby, Media Clerk The media program encourages students and staff to be lifelong users of information and ideas. Media lessons support the school and county curriculum, as well as individual needs and requests. Our staff instructs students, staff, and parents how to utilize technology and research skills to support the curriculum. Mt. Airy Elementary School's media center houses over 10,000 items! Our third, fourth, and fifth graders and staff may check out materials from nonfiction, fiction, picture books, magazines, as well as audio books. Our fiction series collection is growing . . . over forty selections can be found here! By providing many exciting forms of media, such as print and electronic resources, we foster a love of reading . . . which will last a lifetime. Students may check out either one magazine and one book, or two books for a week. Open check out during homeroom from 8:05-8:35 on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays, allows students to exchange their materials as often as desired. |
