Our media program focuses on providing library media instruction integrated with classroom learning. Instruction is designed to teach media appreciation and information skills that meet the learner outcomes across all instructional areas. In addition, our media staff is responsible for helping integrate technology and research skills into the curriculum in our building.
We service over 700 patrons through regularly scheduled media classes, informal research groups, in-services to staff members and parents, as well as one on one instruction. Currently we are teaching 36 classes of students in grades K-5 each week and have a weekly circulation of over 1200 books.
The media center is open each morning between the hours of 8:05 to 8:35 for independent check-out and students are invited to visit after unpacking in their classroom. Our collection is chosen with care to reflect the needs of all students and staff at Linton Springs. The media center currently contains 12,953 titles.
We have 17 search stations for catalog access and Internet access. A scanner and digital cameras are also available for teacher directed student use. In addition, our web-based catalog is available on any computer with an internet connection. Our collection provides an abundance of quality resources in all formats to meet a wide range of learner abilities, developmental levels, and modalities.

One way of disseminating information to the school community is through our weekly media sponsored TV show that is run entirely by the fifth grade and is viewed by the entire school. Parent involvement is highly encouraged and helpers are always welcome.
