Biographies: Social Studies
Mr. David Arbanel || DMABARB@k12.carr.org
Mr. Abarbanel received his BA from The University of Maryland at College
Park in Criminology and Criminal Justice and his MA from Towson University
in secondary education. He currently teaches US history, Honors US
history, Honors Government, and Psychology.
Mr. Paul Bangle || PLBANGL@K12.CARR.ORG
Mr. Bangle teaches Psychology, Honors Psychology I, and U.S. History.
He is a graduate of Towson University where he earned his B.S. in
History and M.A. in Education. Mr. Bangle is head coach of the Golf
Team and a Ski Club advisor.
Mrs. Alice M. Carichner || AMCARIC@K12.CARR.ORG
Mrs. Carichner is a graduate of Marywood College where she earned
both a B.A. and M.A.. She has been teaching at LHS for 18 years and
currently teaches Government and Honors Government.
Mr. Ralph D. Chiaramonte || RDCHIAR@K12.CARR.ORG
Mr. Chiarmonte is a graduate of SUNY at Stony Brook (B.A.) and Towson
University (M.A.). He currently teaches American Government and Honors
Government. Mr. Chiaramonte has 30 years of teaching experience, 25
of them at LHS. Mr. Chiaramonte is the chair for the Social Studies
Department.
Mrs. Patricia DiLeonardi ||

Mrs. DiLeonardi has worked at Liberty High since 1986 and currently
teaches Honors U.S. History, Honors Psychology I and Teen Leadership
and Issues. She graduated from Towson State University with a Bachelor's
degree in History.
Mr. John Giese || JPGIESE@K12.CARR.ORG
Mr. Giese graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from University of Maryland,
College Park and holds an M.A. in Teaching from Towson University.
He teaches U.S. History, World History and World Geography.
Mrs. Patricia Regan || PDREGAN@K12.CARR.ORG
Mrs. Regan is a graduate of Salisbury University (B.A.) and Loyola
College of Baltimore (M.A.). She teaches Honors World History, AP
European History and AP World History. Mrs. Regan is the advisor for
the Key Club.
Mr. Christopher Szocik|| CVSZOCI@K12.CARR.ORG
Mr. Szocik is a graduate of Towson University, with a B.A. and an
M.A. in Teaching. Mr. Szocik came to education after a twenty-year
career in business management. Mr. Szocik teaches American Civil War,
World History, and Issues.
