Nasa Quest Challenges-NASA Quest Challenges are Web-based, interactive explorations designed to engage students in authentic scientific and engineering processes. The solutions relate to issues encountered daily by NASA personnel.

5th Annual Physics Fair! Saturday, April 26, 2008 - To be held at Johns Hopkins University. Includes a variety of activities, challenges, and demos for students in grades 1-12.

Baltimore Museum of Industry - Engineering challenges 2008-Middle and High school competitions.

Computer Mania Day - will provide a half day of technology-related activities for up to 800 middle school girls and their parents and teachers at UMBC, Saturday, May 3, 2008. Girls are the focus, but boys are welcome. This program is designed to provide a broad-based introduction to the ways in which different careers make use of technology. Spaces are limited! Please register beginning March 3rd to secure your spot! Free gift bags from Dell for the first 800 students who register and attend!

NASA INSPIRE Project - Interdisciplinary National Science Project Incorporating Research and Education Experience for students and parents grades 9-12

DOE's National Science Bowl- A jeopardy like competition starting with regional competitions that encourages our nation's students to become the next generation of innovators propelling our country and world into a prosperous and more secure future through scientific discovery .

Spring 2008 Cassini Scientist for a Day Contest - Deadline May 8, 2008. The Cassini Scientist for a Day contest challenges students to become NASA scientists studying Saturn. Participants are challenged to examine three target images taken by Cassini and choose the one that they think will yield the best scientific results. This choice must then be explained in a 500-word essay.

The contest is open to all students in the United States from grades 5-12, working alone or in groups of up to four students. The essays will be divided into three groups: grades 5-6, 7-8 and 9-12. All submissions must be students' original work. Each student can submit only one entry.

NASA Quest LIMA Challenge for Students in Grades 4-8 -In this challenge, students become scientists and propose Antarctic research. The Landsat Image Mosaic of Antarctica is the first true-color high-resolution satellite view of the Antarctic continent. Using this view of Antarctica, students must develop a research question and debate the value of studying the chosen feature. Registration is currently open and educational resources are available online.

The Math and Related Sciences (MARS) Camp is a two-week residential, summer enrichment program for high school and middle school students. Sponsored and financially supported by The National Security Agency, it is held at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, MD. MARS provides an array of courses aimed at engaging students in mathematical and scientific problem solving using various innovative techniques.

Robofest - A free event being help April 26, 2008. Open to all ages from 10 am to 3 pm. See photos from robo 2007.

EduSerc - 2008 Summer Programs, EduSerc hosts summer programs in a variety of industries for a number of target audiences. Primarily targeting elementary and secondary schools, EduSerc knows how to work with youth to help them reach their full potential. Saturday programs for elementary students and week long programs for middle and high school students.

Sally Ride Science Festival - May 10, 2008 11 am-4 pm A day long event focused on girls in Science related fields.

Want to learn how to extract DNA from a strawberry? Take a computer apart? Search for life on other planets? At the festival you'll attend two workshops with a group of girls like you who are interested in digging into science. The workshops are given by amazing veterinarians, rocket scientists, astronomers, microbiologists, seismologists, and more.
