• STEM Inivitational-On January 17, 2008, 196 ninth grade students participated in an event at Carroll Community College involving authentic challenges connecting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The seven challenges called Laser Bulls Eye, GPS, Fan Cart, Maglev, Wind Power, Buoyancy, and Wind Chime were written by multidisciplinary teams of CCPS teachers. • Science Research Biofilm Project- Students in science research classes have been conducting biodiversity studies on local aquatic environments using sampling devices called biodisks. Students have used advanced microscopy equipment and techniques to evaluate the organisms in the measured environment. Students participated in a video conference with students from Sweden to compare studies. For more information on biofilms click here.
