Social Studies
The Carroll County social studies program provides students with a sequential K-12 curriculum designed to help prepare them to be effective citizens. Courses are based the Maryland Learning Outcomes(K-8) and the Core Learning Goals(9-12). Content and skills in history, geography, economics, and government are embedded in each course, K-8, and in the three required high school courses–Government, US History, and World History. A variety of active learning strategies and materials challenge students at each grade level and engage them in acquiring and applying skills and content knowledge.
