Early Childhood Education Kindergarten Program Information

 Carroll County Public Schools offers children who live in Carroll County and are age 5 on or before September 1, the opportunity to attend full-day Kindergarten. 

Instruction in all academic areas is provided by the classroom teacher through a variety of flexible grouping strategies. The individual needs of young learners are met through explicit instruction and differentiation of the CCPS curriculum.

There are four major subject areas which are taught in the elementary schools. These subjects consist of Integrated Language Arts (ILA), Mathematics, Science and Social Studies.  Physical Education/Health, Fine Arts and Personal/Social Development are also taught to provide a well-rounded education for kindergarten children.  Supervisors are committed to providing curriculum for all children that will prepare them to be successful throughout school as well as in the 21st century.
