Health
| Health Education in Carroll County Public Schools is a comprehensive program. The curriculum provides the certified health educator opportunities to address the volunteer state curriculum under the guidelines of the CCPS board of education. Lesson plan objectives tie the curriculum together and provide the teacher with extensions, modifications and supplemental materials for use with students. Community agencies, guest speakers and law enforcement are an integral part and support the health education program. The curriculum is designed to provide students with introductory lessons, continuations of lessons spanning several years, and review lessons with extensions for elementary and secondary students. Health education includes the seven National and State Standards that include mental and emotional health, alcohol, tobacco and drugs, personal and consumer health, family life and human sexuality, safety and injury prevention, nutrition and fitness and disease prevention and control. |
